I don't want to burn my corals or not give them enough light. I am installing a new 20L frag tank and using a 24" suspended 250w sunpod metal halide with blue and white LEDs over it. Yes, it has a brand new bulb too :) at what distance from the water over this shallow tank does it need to be? Am I right at thinking 2'-3'?

Thanks

What types of coral are you stocking the frag tank with? What ballast is on it and what bulb are you running? 2'-3' is way to high unless there is some important detail missing.

Mixed corals. Zoas - acros. The bulb is an odyssea mhq-d 250w/20000k. The ballast has no info. It's the one that comes with the sunpod though.

The tanks is shallow, and some sorals may only ve about 6" from the surface. That's why I was thinking about 2'-3' up from the tank
