I have a few starter sps cheap acros and montis. Because all my lps is doing good so I figured what the heck. So I got a bubblegum digi chunk for free and an unnamed green acro. A green scroll and a red and purple encrusting Monti for about 40 bucks. And everyone is doing okay showing polyp extension except for the digitata. It was before but ever since I did a small wc it’s been closed up and looks pretty rough. Anyone have any thoughts? Thanks.

If I had a decent camera I’d get some better photos. But the skeleton looks kinda fuzzy. A few polyps are kind of there. And a piece recently broke off I glued it down and polyps are out on it but it’s white

What's your water parameters? Calcium, alkalinity, magnesium, nitrate and phosphate along with salinity? The next question would be are your parameters stable? How long has the tank been setup? your rock looks really new.

If the tank is new regardless of how the lps is doing, keeping sps (even beginner ones) can be challenging (even though the polyps seems to extending). Let the tank mature for few more months. Once you can see coralline is growing properly (not pin head size patches, but some descent size ones on the rocks) in the tank then can start adding some sps. Cheers.

Have the LPS grown because my LPS are doing good but not growing so thus I am not ready for sps.

If the polyps are extending that’s a good sign. Probably just bleached. Put it on the sandbed until it acclimates. In my experience it is always best to start any coral in lower light and move it up as it tolerates. Some won’t thrive in lower light but at least you don’t shock them into bleaching out.

The only problem is it’s straight on the rock no plug. He piece off and said here it’s yours.

Calc and mag were insanely high last time I checked because I messed up a long time ago. I check every few days. I’m letting them slowly go down. But I’m dosing alk. It stays around 9.9-10.5 nitrates are on the lower side I’d say 15 idk about phosphates I don’t have a kit for those yet. Salinity stays at 1.026 the tank cycled four months ago. Been wet for 5. I’d say it was calc and mag but it was fine until I did a water change. Also the digi is the only coral I’m having problems with it was fine until I did my first wc ever and now it’s closed up and looks like it’s dying. Acro is doing great nice green color on it and polyps looking happy.

Well guys I think I figured out the problem! I suppose I accidentally grabbed the wrong bucket when i set my ato up and boom my salinity sky rocketed to 1.028. And all the sps and my acans are mad. Everyone else is fine tho. dang I was wondering because everything else is okay. Probably explains why my calc and mag were so high as well.
