Swapped over from using regular powerheads when i set my tank back up. Currently using a single powerhead wavemaker in a 75g tank. It is rated to ~3300GPH and i have it set to run at about 60% of that and it does make a wave. I am concerned with the amount of flow it actually generates though. Having always used continuous flower powerheads I'm not sure what I am expecting or how it should be performing.

Thoughts or suggestions for tuning one to have acceptable flow? The plan is a mixed reef that will sustain SPS.

Hope your having a good evening.

Which model are you using. Something rated for 3300 in a 75 should be more than enough. just need the right setting and power for your model and tank

Thanks for the response! it's a your choice aquatics wavemaker I got from premium aquatics. It has it's own controller, it's currently at 60% and 2/3 pulse speed. This creates a pretty sizable wave motion at the top.
