I bought an acan about a month ago and put him in the bottom of my tank. I feed him pretty regularly but her in the past month he has lost color. Ie bleached. After talking with some friends in the hobby we think he has been bit with too much light and that's why he is bleaching. So my question is do you guys believe this is the case and what's the best way to go about this? I've already moved him from open water to a lil cave sorta speak with lower levels of light. He probable gets low to med flow. My light schedule was as such:
2-250w MH ran from 7:30am-8pm
2-T5 florescent bulbs 1 blue 1 purple run 7am-8:15pm
Now I've just dropped the MH's to 10am-3pm to help with not burning him out.
Does this sound right, should I change other things up? All water parameters are normal by they way.
As you can see in the photo I hope in the top right he's losing color and has lost a little more since that photo. I dipped him for 15mins in revive on Wednesday. I have a more expensive Blasto I just got on Wednesday and I don't want the same to happen to it.
Thanks guys
