New to the forum so bare with me if this gets long. Ive got a 75 gallon reef tank that i was stupid and never qt any fish per advice of LFS (no longer a customer). I ended up with ick that killed a yellow eye kole tang after about a month of fighting it. Then a couple weeks after the tang died one of my clowns got sick with ick then it got really bad overnight and looked like brooklynella right before it died a day or so later. Not wanting to have any more casualties I pulled out all my fish and put them into QT and waited for meds in the mail. After recieving acriflavine I read the bottle and just dosed the whole tank per instructions on the bottle and after i read its best used as a bath instead of constantly in the qt tank. Can i continue with the whole tank treatment or do I need to drain the QT and start over? If at all possible i would like to avoid that to not stress my fish even more. I plan on going fallow for atleast 76 days to get rid of the brook and ick. If i can keep treating the whole tank how long do i need to keep it in there? Thanks!

Acroflavine is best used as an antiseptic and used as a bath like you mentioned. It might work for brook bc I think It has formalin in it but I doubt it will help eradicate ich or velvet. Also formalin is really strong and known to be carcinogenic so long term use could do more harm then good.
Your best choose for treatment against ich and velvet would be to do copper or CP for 30 days min and then observe till your display tank is ready again.

I plan on running CP for 30 days after I treat with the acriflavine. The acriflavine is just what im using for the brooklynella. So should I drain my QT and just do a acriflavine bath or can I just leave it at the reduced concentration for longer?

I'm not an expert but know Cp will treat for brook, ich, velvet and uronema so I personally would not do any long treatment with acriflavine if going to be using pharmacy grade CP.
I would do a couple of large water changes and start with CP treatment. Just make sure you are not treating any fish that's cp sensitive like blue hippo tangs or wrasses.

Ok I may have mistaken what CP means. Does it stand for cupramine? The only fish i have concerns about with the copper is my melanarus wrasse.

I personally have no experience with them but according to this you should be okay:

Cupramine is ionic copper. Just make sure to raise its concentration really slowly within 4-7 days and to test it carefully (you will need an appropriate kit that tests for ionic copper like seachem or Hanna.) I suggest getting the Hanna high range copper test kit. It makes testing and reading the levels extreemly easy and accurate since it's digital.
An ammonia badge would be great as well since most ammonia kits will not read accurately when using copper.
Also remember you can NOT use any ammonia reducers like prime or amquel in conjunction with copper.
Copper does not treat againt brook:

If using Cupramine (or any copper product), you will need to also dose Seachem Metroplex to treat for brook. Do a large WC and run carbon beforehand to remove the acriflavine.

Thank you both for clearing things up for me. Ive got to replace my RO/DI cartridges out in the morning and will get water made while I go pick up some metroplex and get ready. I already have the seachem copper test kit or else i would get the hanna. Maybe when the seachem ones run out. Thanks again.
