I'm sure this is a popular topic, i saw LOADS of results from Google, but have some specific questions!

Main problem- we have mostly hammer/frogspawn, zoas and acans in our tank. Im gathering that means peppermint shrimp, butterflies and file fish are off our option list.

We've been looking at Berghia but just having a hard time spending $400 for 25 nudibranchs!

We've tried aiptasia x as well as a laser. Any other ideas or livestock we can try? Anyone with any berghia they'd be willing to trade or sell? Any advice/input is greatly appreciated!!

aiptasia x works for me. nudis are a hit or miss just like pep shrimp butterflies and leather files. your best luck would be buying a filefish that already eats aiptasia in its tank, from experience, otherwise i’d go for aiptasia x !

We've tried that several times, and within a few days they're back... ☹ ive been reading filefish will nip at the acans and zoas though, and I think wed rather have aiptasia than risk our zoa garden and acans haha!

Aiptasia X ... you just have to use it as a maintenance item ... In other words... I probably use it every couple weeks ... just to kill off one or two that pop up. You have to stay on it like water changes or dosing.

the trick to it is getting the serum into its mouth! and then bombarding its entire head as if you’re nuking them. what happens is, yes you can get it in it’s mouth, but if you don’t cover the aptasia up it will have time to release what you’d call babies and that’s how they spread so it has to be quite precise if that makes sense! nuke them all!!

Why can't you have peppermint shrimp with hammer/frogspawn, zoas and acans?

They are known to be risky with LPS, not always but often enough.

I would keep on the hunt for cheaper berghia, those prices are pretty high to me.

"Adult" Berghia nudibranch is going for $24 CND here in Canada, crazy prices :'(

Well, quick update, I did find some berghia for $10 a piece!! They've been out of stock, and everywhere else was almost double. Hubby happened to check and they were in stock as of half an hour ago, so got an order in! Here's hoping they work!

How did the berghia order work out with the aptasia outbreak? Mind sharing where you got them for $10 each?

I got rid of mine with lemon juice from a syringe. as stated earlier it’s best to administer it when they are open So you need to sneak up on them or they will close they are sensitive to movement
Edit didn't realize the thread was old

A filefish wiped mine out. He also ate all my rock flower nems, but he hasn't touched anything else and I have all the corals you listed.
