Could someone help with us please. Stringy, filled with bubbles. Looks like dinos. UV doesn’t touch it. Stays there all the time- light doesn’t affect it. On the microscope photo (40x) i see some ostreopsis dinos. But what are the small bubbles all around it? Thanks!

some ostreopsis dinos, some derbesia (GHA) strands, but mostly chrysophytes.

Thank you! For chrysophytes, I just remove the silica? How do I battle them?
Silica is not likely the ticket. There are a few threads with things that people are trying against these guys (sorry, don't have links handy at the moment. Others will cover me here)
They are pretty uncommon so it's not really very settled. I do know that UV won't touch them.

Thanks! I noticed that UV did nothing. That’s when I tried to ID vía microscope
