So my coral QT has a bit of an algae issue I think. Might be normal cycling, but figured I'd ask. The tank has had water since 9/3/19 and corals and inverts since 9/23. I feed the couple shrimp in there pellets daily, and a dose of reef chilli once a week for the corals. I didnt have the skimmer on initially so things kinda blew up. The skimmer is a bit overpowered and has the nitrates really low and phosphates basically undetectable.

Here are some photos. Let me know if you need tank parameters, more history, etc. Thanks for any help you can provide!

Appreciate the link. Not really seeing a match in there that looks like the crud growing in my tank though :\

Unless its green hair algae, but the nitrate and phos #'s in the tank are basically zero so I'm not so sure

It's gha. Sometimes gha will bleach under higher PAR conditions making it look whitish. Too much PAR and no phosphates is a good way to get dinos. Phosphates may test zero but remember that test kits can only detect inorganic sources. You probably still have organic sources of nutrients that can't be detected by any test kit. But once those are gone, then you're at a really high risk on dinos.

Finally turned the corner on this one! Reduced the light schedule significantly, did some manual removal, and added a very hungry female emerald crab. That crab is an algae eating machine! Initially she started on the bottom of the tank, but eventually found her way up to the frag rack. She's done a great job cleaning and hasn't munched on any of the corals :D
