I’ve been trying to find what algae this is to maybe for a better plan of attack. I’ve been scrubbing the rock with a tooth brush and dosing MB Clean and it’s been helping but I’d like to know more. The dry rock was aged for a couple months and has been in the tank under lights for a month. So I’m wondering if it could also be a maturity issue.

mason my Tangs won’t eat it.

Manually remove/siphon out, check NO3 and PO4 are in range, lessen feeding, shorten light intervals, add CUC if you don’t have. Be patient. Will take time to eradicate.

You know, it almost looks like some kind of bubble algae.

I would suggest just keep on doing what you are already doing. Maybe look into getting some more CUC since no one else wants to eat it; Sea Hare, lettuce nudi, some more hermit crabs, etc will all be appropriate for this.

Definitely not bubble algae it’s far to soft but it’s offgassing some kind of gas. Thanks for the recommendation I’ve never really checked out CUC’s
