Hi all,

I recently posted for the first time here and included a photo of my tank. Somebody replied saying it looked like I had a Dino issue on my sandbed but it was hard to tell from the photos.

I’ve read as much of the threads on Dino’s on the forum and am still undecided if these are just diatoms. I understand to get a definite ID I need to invest in a microscope - I’m currently looking into options on that!

The algae almost seems to disappear overnight and gets worse through the light hours. So far I’ve reduced the light and am running rowaphos - although I realise if this is Dinos then probably not the right course of action.

I’ve taken a photo in the morning when most of the algae has gone, and another half way through the day.

That looks like Dinos to me, but I definitely recommend getting a microscope to confirm.
