This started off as a matt of what looked like cyano over the sand bed. Tried weeks of weakly water changes and manual removal only for it to keep coming back. Dosed chemiclean and after that the sand bed algae dispeared. But now more stringy algae exploded over the rock work and corals of what might be dinos. It blows off the rocks and corals easily with a baster. But comes back within a few hours. My parameters are.
1.026
79 degrees.
Ammonia and nitrites 0.
Nitrates are 2.5 to 5. And phosphates are .03 with gfo.
My lights are sb reefs leds and skimmer has been off for a bit with the chemiclean.
I thought that lowering nutrients was good. But the more I read upping my nutrients might be the way to fix it unless I'm confused. Which I am. All help is much appreciated!!
