In the past few weeks I’ve had a bad breakout in some brown algae maybe can see in picture. What’s a good way to get rid of this and certain kind of snail or crab. I just got two turbo snails about two months ago but I think my large red crab may have killed them.

Bubble algae? Emerald crabs will take care of that.

If it’s bubbles in the algae it leads me to dinos, but would need a better picture for that.

Can ick travel on snails the best price for snails and bigger snails are from my local petco but I don’t wanna bring ick into my tank.

Inverts and even corals can definitely bring the parasite in your tank, however they do require fish to stay alive. If the tank is not in connection with a tank containing fish, there is only a small chance that the parasite survived (If they have been in the tank for a complete ich lifecycle)

Can I maybe get them and let them set in a little container of my water for a few hours or rinse them

can't tell from the pics but looks like snot algae, dinos. i'm a bit rusty, but i believe algae destroyer from api works better than high mag for that. cmiiw

Does look like snot. Why would my 1 year old tank have this

even better question to which i don't recall the answer. i want to say flow. don't think it's contagious per say, just more like a grandmas smelly feet. happens.
