Hi, I need a little help with tank chemistry. My tank is for the most part stable but my PH and Alk has what I think are big swings. I use Red Sea Coral Pro salt. Here are my parameters for one week on my Red Sea Reefer 350 thats been running for almost 2 years :

Cal 404 to 392
Alk 7.22 to 6.78
PH 8.05 to 7.93
Phosphate 0.04
Mag 1350 stable
10 gal water change weekly
I dose 80 ml Alk from 7:30 pm to 6:30 am and Cal 80 ml from 7am to 7pm. My PH low point is from 10am to 12:30 noon. I was using ph buffers but I didn't think was a good idea so I stopped about a month ago. For filtration I run filter socks, skimmer, small refugium with some chaeto and BRS universal Co2 scrubber.

Those numbers actually look pretty good to me I know my tank has a bit of a swing from day-to-day I wouldn't be too concerned with it

So you don't think I should get my Alk a little higher to get more coral growth?
As long as it's around 7 it should be fine. Stability is more key than high levels ;) there is a coral supplier on here who keeps his alk at 7 and his corals are amazing:) I keep mine at 8 and it floats from 7 to 8 daily

Ok cool, thanks. Maybe I'm worried about nothing.
