Hi all,
I have neglected my tank for awhile and just starting to get back into Reefing after a long time off. I tested my tank today and my numbers are are all out of whack. Can someone remind me how to get them back in line? I started doing 25 gal water changes every other day last week thinking that might help but they are still off.

ALK-7.4
CA-500+
MG-1800-2000

Tank is a 120 gal. I am using Red Sea Blue Bucket for water changes. I thought to just raise ALK and that would drop the CA and MG but I tried that the week before last using Soda Ash and it didn't really help. I only tried to raise ALK to 9 DKH so I possibly need to go higher.I did the water change after that and that didn't seem to have an effect either.

Any help is appreciated

Thanks

I think your having testing errors.
Def the mag.

If you’ve done close to 100% at this point , you should be close to the bucket parameters.

I thought the same. I bought new test kits. Same result takes over 1ml to make a color change for both MG and CA. The one thing about the water change is that it's done by the Apex over 24 hrs taking water out and putting it back in at the same time albeit from different locations. So maybe not a full exchange has taken place.

What mag Test.

What is the cal in the salt mix?

What’s the alk of the salt ?

Sailfert and Red Sea. 420 for CA and 1150 for MG 7.5-8 dkh. I did not confirm that with the water changes though just going by the manufacturer on the bucket.

It’s the 35.5 ppt.

If you aren’t dosing , the cal and mag really can’t be that far off.
Pretty weird results.

Apologies. I don't think I mentioned dosing before. I was previously dosing Red Sea ABC+ before the the water changes. I have since stopped dosing everything. I am sure that's how they got out of balance. Now to get back to normal is my task.
