Hey guys this is my first time dosing alk so bare with me. My alk in my 60 gallon mixed reef is 7 and I’m trying to bring it up to therapeutic level but I’m not understanding the dosing procedure. Can someone please help me? TIA!

Just skip the spreadsheet and calculate it yourself. The table is way too confusing in my opinion.

What do you mean with therapeutic level? My guess is you want a dKH of around 8.3?

Yes around 8.5-9 is what I was told.
I don’t know how much to dose and how many times a day. If you could help me with that I would appreciate it a lot.

Ignore the table, focus on the concentration. For every 1ml of supplement dosed to 25 gallons, Alk will rise by 0.1DKH. 60 gallons (your tank) divided by 25 gallons (1ml of supplement) results in a multiplication factor of 2.4, meaning, for every 2.4ml of supplement you dose, your Alk should rise by 0.1DKH. You should factor in displacement for equipment, rock, and livestock, so 60 gallons may not be accurate. Dose slowly, and test to confirm. Personally, I don't like to increase Alk more than 0.5DKH per day beyond baseline. Hope this helps.

60 g is 227 l. Approximation of water volume 200 l

2 ml of solution in your 200 l tank increases dhk by 0.1

7-8.5= 1.5 dHK

2*15= 30 ml

Thank you so much. Helped tremendously

Any alk from 7 to 11 dKH is fine. There’s nothing special preferred in general about 8.5 to 9 dKH.
