Came back from my vacation to find my sunburst anthia with white stringy poop last night and almost unresponsive today…what could I do? I don’t have a QT tank…

very slow breathing…almost zero movement, not even if I try to touch it using my net or tweezers

How's parameters, how are the other fish? How long were you gone for, did anyone feed him?

@Tnops Parameters are normal. Gone for 3 weeks…yes was fed while away…all other fish are fine…thought something was amiss when I did not see it jumping out to feed this morning..

Not sure how anyone is assessing this without seeing the fish
Please post a video of the fish under white light intensity for at least 20 seconds

Pic is showing sign of uronema which is an oval ciliated parasite

The fish is actively dying - it could be uronema - it's unclear otherwise. Sorry to say it. :)

my worst fear ! Anything I can do to ease the pain? Or should I just wait for it to pass and then retrieve?

@MnFish1 @vetteguy53081 @Jay Hemdal any pointers on what could have happened here? The anthia was eating last night but had stringy poop..and dead today. Wondering if should treat the tank with rally pro or something similar as a precaution. Please advise
Sorry, I just got back from dinner….

There wasn’t anything you could have done for this fish.

It might have been Uronema. The slow breathing was odd though, and the mucus feces doesn’t match either.

I would not dose rally pro, there isn’t any indication that what the anthias had would be controlled by using that.

Thanks...it was a sudden decline so I'm flummoxed :( Wont treat with anything as recommended.

Thankfully no symptoms on the others...two clowns, one Cardinal, purple firefish, royal Grama and a hippo tang..all happy and moving around and eating as regular...

As soon as I saw that fish I knew it was going to die. I have a pair of them for a couple of years and I never saw them rest on the bottom except maybe to sleep.
