Help with Anemone!!

so my boyfriend and I have a 30g biocube for our saltwater setup. He got an anemone and it was fine and dandy, always super good looking so I wanted one of my own to put in. They were perfectly fine but now in the past few days we’ve noticed them acting weird and puffing up by the tentacles and we’re a little worried. Any idea what’s going on??

The nems is really bleached and looks like it cant find a good spot in the tank

About a year old, we have led lights and we had to rearrange the tank yesterday so that’s probably why they look bleached

They usually inflate/deflate when introduced to new tank and in general. After a while they will do it on a schedule, at lights out, lights on, etc

It is acclimating so I’d leave it alone.

Also, like just mentioned, it is bleached and from looking at your sand and rocks, your tank is too new for a nem.

It is possible to keep it in a new tank if you’re experienced or lucky. Just be aware.

May be bleached but for the shape it looks healthy. Let it walk around and find its home. Anemones like tanks that are stable and a little older. I didn’t have much luck with my first anemone, once my tank was around 9 months old I tried again and had no issues.

Then it is most likely normal behavior. Let they roam and find a spot.

I don’t see any coralline on the rocks so I assumed your tank was newer. They should be fine. Just keep parameters stable and should be good.

You’re getting some bad advice.
Nems that are bleached are not healthy. It shows that it’s current tank conditions aren’t suitable for the nem. It’ll only get worse if you don’t take care of it. The questions I asked are good info we all need to help you get the nem back to good health

Pretty much everyone on here with the exception of one person has agreed that it is bleached and roaming and that stability is key to saving it. I purchased a bleached anemone, my second attempt at keeping one and didn’t even know it was actually bleached just thought it was pink but ended up coloring up into a rainbow BTA. It roamed around for about a week before it found a spot it liked and took several months to color up. All I did was keep stable parameters and a light feeding once or twice a week. It colored up but took about 2 months to really show its true colors. I have several other anemones and have had a few just get upset for no apparent reason and spring back by leaving them alone. I personally have found just stability in both water and feeding schedules is what seems to heal nems. Trying to hard to cater to them only seems to stress them further in my experience.
