Help with biocube 29

I ordered the Intank media basket and a tunze 9004 skimmer with tunze nano ato. Rick at Reef Radiance offered to drill the tank for me and give me a custom sump for it since I've been buying my lighting through him. I'm thinking its a good idea because I could fit a better in sump skimmer and it would save me money. What do you guys think?

Sounds like a plan to me, depends on the lighting fixture though to some degree.

If you take the time to drill or have an AIO tank drilled it's a good idea.

Can I have the top off top off into the sump or is that a bad idea?

I'm thinking about removing the lid and putting an evergrow it2040 on top. I could get the rapid led setup for the hood but the evergrow is only 189.99 and I think will grow any corals I would be putting in there.
