I have noticed my SPS and some Millies struggling over the past few months. I have had red bugs before, and AEFW. But this time as I pick up the corals, dip them I haven't found anything until today. All of this came off just one Acro. I havent seen this type of black bug before and also found orange eggs.

would love help with an ID and treatment.

TY

These may be Black Bugs - coral-parasitic copepods:
Yeah, white bugs, red bugs, black bugs, etc. (coral-parasitic pods) will almost exclusively be found on their host corals. For more info on these and for some closer up pics/drawings:

Wanted to give this a bump. Anyone have experience with these guys.

Best dip to use and method?
Any in tank treatments work?

Been a while, and my tank is slowly just being consumed. MY dead SPS now fills a 5 gallon bucket. Anyone have any ideas how to beat black bugs? I have successfully used interceptor before on Red Bugs and it worked. But I cant find any successful treatments for Black Bugs?

these "black bugs" are accompanied by little red bugs also. Not sure if those are younger black bugs or the traditional Red bug.

To my knowledge, the treatment for black bugs is the same as for red bugs.

in case it helps others, I also found this link and in it someone recommends 10x the dosage of interceptor. I will give this a try.
