I had a Naso arrive last week with white patches/scrapes on his sides. I’m assuming possible scarring from past infection. I’ve had him in QT but he is refusing to eat and is getting thinner. I’ve been treating him with antibiotics to help, thought about doing Prazipro as well. Can I combine these medications? I’ve tried red and green nori, LRS reef frenzy, Rods food, spirlulina brine and he won’t eat anything. Would a bacterial infection cause the loss of appetite?

None of the spots actually stick up so it’s not ich just is discolored skin.

I would not add prazi. It will just supress appetite further.

What antibiotic(s) are you using?

Right now I’m using Furan 2 ( day 3) and have Kanaplex on hand to use afterwards.

I would dose the Kanaplex in addition to the Furan-2. Adding metroplex may also help.

Metroplex, Kanaplex, and Furan-2 are safe to use together.

The white patches look to be from rubbing on something. If he were eating I’d recommend a fresh water dip.

But the above advice on kanaplex in addition to furan and metro is viable and the route I’d take at this point. Just be sure to offer food any chance you can without compromising your water quality

Yep. Metroplex, Kanaplex and Furan-2 are a triple-threat combination that covers a lot of different strains of bacteria, and has helped a lot of reefers save their fish ... including this one.

My Blonde Naso stopped eating a while back and I discovered he LOVED blood worms...unfortunately i soon found out I was very allergic to them. He also would only eat the Red Nori.

so I just do full doses of all three at the same time? Just want to make sure before I add all those meds at full strength.

I try to leave around a 30 min-1 HR gap between dosing of each med. I have dosed them all together before when heading out the door in a hurry with no negative effect.

I have also saved quite a few fish with this combination.
