Hey guys, I can't tell if there is something wrong with my BTA or not.

So, it's moved around a bit around the tank and it was in high flow area then it moved to lower flow, but now it's moved back to higher flow. Same height in the tank the whole time.

It's tentacles are no longer "bubble tipped" and they're actually a lot more shriveled during the day. However, it does eat sometimes. I only have been feeding mysis. My next course of action is to try feeding it something else. I also have T5 supplement lighting coming in Friday to see if it just wants more light.

All water params seem normal. Nitrates have been on the higher end to be honest though around 20. Any ideas guys? Here is a picture of it.

Edit:

This is what it looked like about 3-4 months ago a couple weeks after I picked it up.

Did you see the change before or after the position change in the tank?

How old is your tank?
How long have you had it?
Did you acclimate?

They are pretty quirky and going to do what they want no matter what we want them to do.

Saw the change before the position change.

Ok, so this tank was an upgrade on my previous tank so I added new sand and water. Total age is right at 6 months (yea I know, I shouldn't have gotten the anemone when I did. My wife loved it when I took her to the fish store with me. I regret the decision even though I also love anemones.)

I've had the anemone for 4 months and yes I acclimated it very slowly.

Hmmmmmm, at this point it doesn't look at that bad!
I would just take a wait and see attitude and watch it! Let it just kinda of do its thing but watch if gets to close to powerheads.
They are quirky and moody! Mine is beautiful one day and the next not so much!

Ok cool, I will do that. Thanks for the help. Do you suggest that I try new food?

In my experience once they lose the bubble tips they never return. I think it has to do a lot with the perfect light intensity and flow. I have three that were incredibly bubble, one went under a rock for a week and came out deflated. The other two stayed bubbled. Mystery of nature I suppose.

I have 2 of them and they might stay in 1 spot for several months then move again. My red one has its bubble tips come and go and usually its related to when its ready to eat the tenticles stretch out, i feed it and they bubble up again. Theyre weird creatures and do their own thing.
