Could anyone send me some links and such to building a sump and fuge I am going to be starting on my 40-55 gallon this winter break.

If you can take advantage of the petco $1 sale, or not, a 20L is a great size for your tanks. Also depends on how much space you have under the tank and what you want to put in the sump. Chaeto, refugium, frag tank, mantis sanctuary. As far as baffles got, a glass shop can cut them for you for about $10 a pop. Glass and be siliconed to glass, but glass and acrylic don't silicone well. It more wedged in than glued in.

Here's my 20L sump under my 40b. Glass-holes Overflow drains on the left where the skimmer is. Bubble trap. Chaeto. Single baffle. Return pump....
GFO & Carbon reactor intake and discharge into the return pump area.
Just installed a dosing pump tonight. Behind the 6500k light that's growing the chaeto.

As stated above. A 20 Long will do well for your size tanks. You can buy aquarium safe silicone at most fish stores.

This is the company I used and few others have as well to get baffles cut. Take the tank with you. On a 20L 8" high baffles are good, and they will cut however many you want.
Genesis Glass & Mirror

Those of you not close to Franklin, I'm sure there are plenty of glass and mirror shops that will do this.

You should dovetail (I think that's the correct term) the corners of the baffles that sit on the bottom of the sump. To account for the silicone bead inside the sump. So it will sit flush.

And don't use thin glass. I think I used 1/4". They get banged when cleaning or removing the skimmer or return pump. Just in case.
