I am looking for the right size bulkhead to slip fit over a 1" schedule 40 pvc pipe. BRS "As we’ve explained, a 1-inch bulkhead accepts 1-inch PVC pipe and fittings. " I buy a 1" bulkhead and vendor says fits 1" pvc and doesn't fit. 1" pvc OD is 1.315" and every 1" bulkhead I find lists 1.2" for hole size. What am I missing here?

The pipe doesn't go all the way through the bulkhead so the hole size, in the glass, doesn't need to be larger than the pipe outer diameter.

Can you link the bulkhead that list a 1.2" size?

A 1" slip bulkhead should fir 1" pvc.

Its threaded on the inside so maybe I need one that isn't or I'll need a male thread on the pipe end.

I bought one on amazon from lifegard aquatics 1" .

Does not fit over 1" pvc. Many brands don't list the hole dimension but the one i did find listed 1.2"

Use Teflon tape and do NOT over tighten as you can split the fitting. 1/4 turn past hand tight is plenty. Also, the pipe threads into the sockets on each side, the outer threads are just for the nut.
