So, I have done some printing for non fish stuff, but wanted to try printing for the tank.

I was going to make a lid, but it's a rimless tank so I was wondering how could I edit the stl to add just a small lip only on the corner pieces at 7mm in from the edge? Could someone help? I have no cad experience.

I'm not sure what you're asking but I can try to help if you can explain in more detail

I wanted to add a small post or lip on the under side of the corner about 7mm in. So when I place it on a rimless tank it doesn't move.

prusa slicer has been adding some very basic cad features. its pretty easy to add rectangles, cut holes, separate a model and add pins etc.

Not sure if this would help but search Amazon for rimless aquarium lid clip

Here is a 8mm version, they make smaller as well

Had to do a little messing around with the scaling after I downloaded it, but this is 7mm from the edge

I need to learn cad... lol. How did you add it? I think that would hold a lid in place perfectly.

Well, I'm an engineer. After using AutoCAD and 3d modeling software for 20 years, adding that little lip was about as simple as it gets...lol

I've attached the .stl for you.

I've tried Autocad but never get my drawings right. Need some intro lessons

You can try tinkercad and edit it. Just place a remove block to remove 7mm from each area

If you really want to learn, get the free version of fusion360, it will be more than adequate for the average hobbyist. Then watch Lars Christensens videos. Start with absolute beginner 1 and 2. Go from there.

It used to take me hours to do basic things but now I can do most stuff in minutes. What I mean is you got to stick through it in the beginning and spend the hours.

I gotta find the videos. I have had fusion 360 for a while but need some education.
