Sorry as I have never used one before... have it hooked up to the apex with if ph > 6.9 then on and if ph < 6.8 then off. My question is it seems like that makes my co2 regulator turn on and off every couple minutes... is that normal?

i run mine if >6.9 then on and 6.5 off
so far so good
my graph looks like this

Yes thats normal, but turn out the fine adjustment screw on the regulator out a tiny bit to slow the flow of C02. If set right your solenoid will not have to open and close constantly or at least not as much.

Think I have something wrong in settings still... as of now my ph goes between 6.9-6.92 ... not sure why it shuts regulator off when it falls below 6.9 when it should stay on until it reaches 6.7

Save yourself the time and learn how to tune the thing by hand. Cycling with a pH controller is no good.

I have not used a pH controller in a long time and a CaRx is best run 24/7 uninterrupted without one. There is a paper in my signature that you can read if you want on how to do all of this. It is easy and more reliable.

Norma;. Just assure the effluent is properly set and flow to sump has stopped

This is what I did. Not difficult.
However, I bumped the needle valve without noticing; I will be adding a PH probe to monitor the CARx so when I do something stupid again I will get an alarm.
