I have some awesome firework cloves that jumped to an SPS/LPS island and grew out of control. Never had them grow so fast, and I want to trim them away from a sunset Monti, acro, and space invader pectinia. Any advice on how to proceed? Don't want the trim to domino back and kill the rest of the colony. Thanks!

Never done it before (I like polyps too much to get rid of them), but here's a couple ideas:

You could try treating them like Aiptasia - smother them in kalkwasser paste to burn the tissue so much that it won't regrow. If you have one of those fancy lasers, I doubt anything can survive exposure to that. An applied paste of sodium percarbonate (careful, it's very caustic!) which is essentially hydrogen peroxide and sodium hydroxide would probably also work.

It seems like you just want to eradicate them from a certain area, which is harder than just nuking the entire tank with a product. How did they jump to the island?

I sell these a lot, super easy. Simply gently peel it off the rock. They come off as a white mat with polyps on. Just glued this frag so you can see the mat still. You can also see on the mother how all the polyps are connected.

I've got a nice colony of GSP going...can clove and GSP live together peacefully? i'd like to get some clove also
They definitely can. GSP is completely non aggressive and can live peacefully with anything. Cloves are the same. The danger is that they can outcompete other corals for space and light and kill them that way so keep their growth in check. Other than competition, you should be good to go having them both together!

Just peel them slowly off their base. Mine overgrow all the time, I peel them off and put them on a frag. Its the only softy I let take over cause they are really gorgeous imo.
