Edit: Maybe he was trying to sleep? Immediately after posting this he started swimming around the tank again. No problems swimming up or down.
Had an ammonia spike in my 24g and lost the female clown of the pair. I pulled everything out, snails, shrimp, crabs, and the male clown and did a 50% water change. Parameters went back to normal and put everybody back in. The clown picked a corner at the top of the tank but started swimming oddly. Always pointing down and he couldn't seem to get down from the top of the tank even when trying for food. I setup a QT (1.5g w/ hang on filter with sponge in it, heater, a bit of sand) and placed him in that. Ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate have all been 0. He was still doing the same thing when I put him in and it was late at night so I put a coffee cup in. He swam in and settled down. In the morning he seemed back to his old self, swimming around the tank.
Now he's in the bottom of a corner almost still, just a flutter of a fin. I checked levels 2x today and still 0 ammonia/nitrite. idk what else to do besides keeping him in the QT and monitoring. Any suggestions? I really don't want to lose the little guy, especially after losing the female (my fault, overfeeding). We've had him since the 18th.
I have also tried feeding him tiny amounts and then removing any excess from the bottom. I know he managed to get one piece.
Sorry for the bad pic, tiny tank and he's tucked in there.

He has eaten, can't tell on poop. He's been hanging out in the coffee cup so I'll move that over to my 24g tank with him.
