So I’ve been quarantining him for 10 days along with a Kole Tang and a Powder Blue with Cupramine. Yes, this is the same PB I’ve been dealing with that had fluke, ich and then black ich. It was when I noticed it had black ich that I added Prazipro to the QT. All three were doing well and eating well. It’s been 2 days since I added the Prazipro and I noticed the black ich was getting better on the PB. But the Coral Beauty started getting some cotton ball/bubble like stuff (head, fins and body). A day or two goes by it doesn’t get better and seems to show more on it’s body and it doesn’t eat. It’s breathing quicker and not as active. Whatever it is Cupramine and Prazipro don’t seem to help. What can it be and what should I do?

that almost looks like velvet what are you using to check the copper level?

I don’t think it’s Velvet because it’s been in quarantine for 10 days without signs of it. I did noticed it had stringy poop. Does that have anything to do with it?

what are you feeding them? get some new life spectrum medicated pellets.

I’ve been feeding it Bio-Pure Frozen Spirulina Brine Shrimp.

Did you drop a decimal in your copper reading? You said .05mg/l, and it should be .5mgl/l. If you don't run copper right up to the full dose, protozoans can sometimes remain active. Presuming you are at .5, how long have you been there?

Yes, it’s at .5 not .05 since 10/19. I went ahead and did a freshwater dip and put him back in last night. I also did a 20% water change. To my surprise this morning, it has cleared up. Not a single trace on him. Could it be he was sensitive to the Prazipro?

Likely not prazi but effective dose along with water change in which you likely siphoned up some of the cysts

Could be, but negative reactions are pretty rare and I’ve never seen that cause spots. What if the fish has flukes? That would account for the improvement seen after the dip, and could also account for the white spots to some extent.
