I have had my 40 gallon tank running for a little over a year now nice and stable with turbo snails and a pair of clownfish. I am ready to get my first corals. cats eye zoanthus and a green toadstool mushroom leather coral. Can i feed them frozen brine shrimp or frozen mysis shrimp?

You don't necessarily have to feed either of them. I never have. They get whatever happens by from feeding my fish and the nutrients that are bioavailable from feeding fish and the pods in my system. I have seen no benefit from direct feeding myself. That is not to say that they do not benefit from it...

Congrats on going for your first coral!

Any photosynthetic coral (most of them) do not need to be directly fed anything to live and grow. They get all of the energy they need from the light, and nutrients from the water and fish poo. That being said, I have seen slightly better coloration and polyp extension in some coral from feeding directly. I probably feed my coral once a week or so whenever I think about it. Not many of my coral seem to eat anything as large as a mysis, but they do respond to the powdered foods.
