Hi , I'm in Australia and looking to get a rodi, as I'm currently having to get it from the LFS .
I was looking at this one it states it's reef tanks , it is advertised as di , not rodi I'm not sure the difference
They also stock an rodi which is advertised as for aquarium , which would be most suitable ?
Thanks
Mark
Reef one https://www.psifilters.com.au/di-reef-systems/10119-psi-019b-di-4-stage-reverse-osmosis-unit.html

Other one https://www.psifilters.com.au/di-reef-systems/10120-reverse-osmosis-psi-020b-di-lw.html

Both filter you posted are RODI.
RO is the filter and membrane. The DI is the last stage.
The first one you posted has a cartridge DI (non refillable).
The 2nd has a refillable DI canister. I'd recommend to go with the 2nd one. It's cheaper to refill the DI resin.
Wow - they are expensive over there :) $100US more than here.

Yes they sure are expensive , not sure why most other aquarium products are on par with the U.S , i worked out its cheaper to actually go to the LFS for a year to get water than it is to buy one , but its a hassle.
Here are some others theres one for $190 aud

and some more https://www.psifilters.com.au/69-laundry-wall-mount-reverse-osmosis-systems
not sure what makes it a reef ro/di can i use a standard one
eg https://www.psifilters.com.au/laund...-bb-3-stage-reverse-osmosis-basic-system.html

Im only using 4 gal a week for ato , and 4 gal a month for water changes would this one do ? if all ro/di is surpossed to come out at 0 tds shouldnt they all do the same job? is it just selecting the ones that are cheaper and easier to replace cartridges?

Also in regards to the 1st one being sealed cromag27 , it says in the detail , "Re-fillable inline Di cartridge (mixed bed resin) 580 grains (9,900 ppm tds)", could be wrond im new to ro/di.
but in saying that if its worth paying the extra $20 i might aswell get the 2nd one if its better. ( looks like the difference is the 2nd one you can use for drinking water with a tap at an additional cost of $50 dang :(

Hi, I am Sydney based and use a 4 stage Aquatic Life RODI I got from my LFS in Taren Point. They recommended this as they are confident about being able to get replacement cartridges.

With some of the other brands this may be more difficult, particularly several years down the track, so going with a well known brand is safer. I also bought some Aquatic Life accessories - TDS meter and pressure sensitive solenoid to keep my reservoir full. I did have to import these from the US however as the accessories weren’t readily available over here.

I use about 120-150L per month and expect to get around 2 years out of the filters. My incoming water is ~76 TDS which is fairly clean. I will watch my outgoing TDS to confirm they will last as long as I hope.

Here is what it looks like.
