Just got some live rock from TBS and this little guy fell off a rock when placed in the sump.

It's all a Tanish color. Tiny, maybe 1/4" side to side.

It looks like it could be a mithrax crab. Are the ends of the claws rounded or sharp?
rounded - sometimes reef safe. A tiny one is fun to watch and you can remove it latter if you have to. Dont usually get big

sharp - never reef safe, may get large if you keep it in the sump. They grow fast. These were 1 inch when they came in the live rock. 1 is larger than my hand now.

It's hard to tell cause it's so small, but I'd have to say not sharp.

Saw another crab. Hard to get a good pic of it with my phone.

Its hairy and enough to confirm it is one you dont want. related to gorilla crab no doubt

2nd one is gorilla also. Bad. Common for ocean soaked live rock. You’ll catch them soon enough. I’ve never had one become a real problem before I caught or killed it.
