Hello, I have about 1 year of running a FOWLR tank.

Planning the next step and looking at a Waterbox Reef 70.2 to begin to branch out into a reef tank. Because I do not have much space in my house 24" long is about my max. The Waterbox is 24x24x20". And the glass is 12 mm thick which limits some options. I have looked for threads discussing flow in a cube tank and have not been very successful. Therefore I would appreciate comments, or direction to an older thread that resolved my questions, which are:

Can I expect a VorTech MP40 to generate appropriate full tank gyre-like flow to keep things clean and allow for coral growth in the future? (I am a huge fan of no wires visible and would put the pump head on the back wall shooting forward. From what I have read and seen, many suggest as close to the surface as possible, but would that also be as close to center as possible, or toward the side? And how do the sump return nozzles factor in? (that tank has 2 of them off the front of the overflow box- see picture). Based upon flow information the best pump would be the MP10, but the magnet will not allow 12 mm glass apparently.

How about the Maxspect Gyre XF330?

If money were not an option (unfortunately it is) would anyone feel that you would need 2 of the VorTech or Maxspect pumps to properly circulate water in this square tank? I did find a setup thread of a Waterbox 70.2 using a single VorTech MP40 but there was no specific discussion regarding the flow.

Thanks for any thoughts.
