I am new to the hobby and am setting up a 90 gallon aquarium. I recently purchased some Reef saver Dry Rock from Bulk Reef Supply and am looking for tips to cure the rock. Any help would be appreciated.

Are your plans to cure the rock in another bulk container other than the display tank?

Basics are water to Sg 1.025 approx, temp 76-80, some flow. You can let it cure for roughly 4-6 weeks without any other intervention or you can add a raw table shrimp or my preferred method of bacteria in a bottle such as Microbacter7 or Dr.Tims products. Ghost feed the rock occasionally and you're good to go in about 6 weeks as long as test for ammonia and nitrites are in line.

I was hoping to Cycle it in the display tank because i have just finished building the stand and canopy and setting it up in my living room.

All you have to do is put the rock in with fresh saltwater and then toss in a table shrimp and let it go for a few weeks. simple as that.

Nice tank and can't wait to see it progress!

Yes, I would wait until water is to Sg and temp prior to adding the live sand otherwise it defeats the purpose of using live sand.

I purchased an RO/DI system and some Brute containers to make my own water so I can make sure the Sg and temp are right before I add it to the tank.

Sounds good.

Nice tank. :-)
