Hello everyone so its been awhile since I had a reef tank. Im half a week into the cycling of the new tank. Ive watched a video on BRS tv and was told the best and fastest way to cycle a tank is to add a hardy fish and instantly add a nitrifying bacteria chemical. I added dr Tims one and only when I first installed tank, should I buy a fish and add more or just add a fish?

I suggest checking out this post, it might help you out and is certainly the approach I would take before introducing any fish :)

Hi @Bradsreeftank21 Welcome to R2R! Congrats on the new tank!

A couple of questions about your cycling process:
Based on what BRS has said what stage are you in the cycle?
What are your water parameters? Ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, phosphate?
Do you have live rock or dry rock?
What type of substrate are you using or not?

Live rock will help with the cycling of the tank. If you have substrate that was seeded with live bacteria that will help with the boost. The biggest mistake new reefers can make is to not have a stable tank early on. If there is still ammonia in he tank I'm not a big fan of adding fish, they'll suffer through the process with the possibility of dying. Don't rush though I totally understand the want to... it'll save you money and heartache in the long run.

I'm noting that thread for the future, it'll save me a rewrite LOL Thanks @andrewey :)
