Help with different types of Sailfin Tang

I am curious about a fish I own. It is a sailfin tang, it is not a desjardini sailfin tang but I cant figure out exactly what kind of fish it is. The fish is not circular when it sticks out it's fins, but more of a triangle shape.

Anyone know what kind of fish, what part of the world it comes from is in this picture?

I have seen that article, but I am more curious about the "if it is not a DJ" , there still seem to be a few different kinds. One of the sail fins are rounded, and one the fins come to a point similar to a triangle.

Looks to me like a normal juvenile sailfin. There will be some variation in shapes.

There are 2 species of sailfins, besides the other 5 Zebrasoma. Z. velifer from Indonesia or Philippines area, and Z. desjardinii from Red Sea area.

Best ones I could find, hasn’t changed color much just fattened up since obtaining him , the OS is probably 4-5” for size reference

Looks like a juvenile non red sea variety

Yours is Z. velifer, Indonesian/Philippine sailfin.

In post #1, top and bottom pics are verlifer and the middle is desjardin.

Triangular shape just mean it have not extended it's fins fully. Proportionally the young fish (sailfins) has larger fin to body ratio. Their fins will look a lot smaller proportions than mature specimens.
