My royal gramma has these sores on his scales looks like cauliflower. It’s not velvet or ich, he had been freshwater dipped and show really good improvement. It could be fluke, a bacterial infection or a virus
He had no heavy breathing or any real issues besides swimming slow, and to the left. He also act last night after the freshwater dips

Any idea guys

He’s going in QT tonight once i get off of work and setup my 10 gallon cube. He’s going to be my trooper lol

Like i said i wonder if he got into with another fish or bumped into my urchin

I know they can cause all sorts of issues if the fish runs into them

Could be the cause of the issue. Have you added anything new to the tank recently?

What interesting is that during the freshwater dips

He lost some of his scales i had some white stuff at the bottom. It could be fluke, i do have stuff on order to take care of that. But i just wanna know what it is. Not even my local LFS could figure it out

Just in general you risk bringing in unwelcome disease, hitchhikers and parasites when adding anything wet to your tank without QT first. For example I added new SPS corals and my fish broke out in ich weeks later. Just something consider.

Did you order Prazipro or API general cure?

Do you have any other fish in the tank and are they showing any of the similar symptoms?

If this were me. I would set up your 10g cube for QT and treat/observe

Items you'll need for QT setup.
- heater
- air pump/airstone or HOB filter (I recommend both as you will need more aggressive flow when using meds)
- ammonia badge (feed lightly to keep ammonia levels in check)
- bottle of Biospira or tims one and only nitrifying bacteria
- conduct 30-50% (water changes daily or every other day based on ammonia readings)

In addition, I would feed Seachems Metroplex + Kanaplex + Focus for 2-3 weeks. It binds the medication and is safe for fish to ingest orally.

He’ll be good but I’ll feel way better when he’s in QT

Good to hear. Just keep in mind if you're dealing with flukes there is a possibility that others will eventually shows symptoms... just keep a close eye on it. It is suggested to run tank fallow 4 weeks to eradicate flukes from your system.

This is why i got a 10 gallon tank in the first place, just to cover my butt. I won’t be surprised either way. He might of gotten hurt but at least i can shove them I’m the QT and treat them

I got way too many invertebrates and corals to treat them correctly in my display tank

Good thing you're prepared with backup QT. You never want to treat in DT unless it very very very last resort ;)
