I've had this Duncan coral for about a year. I raised from a little $15 frag. Last week I removed my power head to get some baby brittle stars out of it and when I put it back in I left the power cord resting on the Duncan. I didn't notice it and 3 days later it was completely melted. I blew it off with a turkey baster. It's was a white dead looking Lps. I was upset and didn't take a picture, I've been proud of this guy and feed it regularly. The next day to my surprise it was growing back. Now 3 days later my crabs will not leave it alone. It's seems like it's trying to grow. Yesterday it had new soft tissue but today not so much. But it's pink and not white like it was the day I removed power cord. Should I try to isolate it from crabs or are they helping by keeping it clean? All my crabs are coral friendly. I've never had a problem with any of them.
Any other suggestions?
Pictures are first, a month ago when healthy, 2nd The day after I blew it off and 3rd id today, 3 days after blowing it off.
Thanks.

Duncan can really retract into the skeleton, but...it looks like some bacterial infection set in on the 2nd image and the third image look pretty far gone. That has got be extremely frustrating.
I doubt the Hermits are doing more then cleaning up dead and decaying tissue. You could consider dipping it and I imagine if there is any good tissue left it will take quite awhile to see improvement.
