Tank :Red sea reefer 250

Lighting : Red sea reeflight 90 x2

Skimmer : Protein skimmer bubble magnus curve 5 will this work for red sea 250?

Filter : Not sure do i even run 1 i have looked at other peoples tanks in the member tank forum and it seems like people don't run them?? if i'm just missing it what should i get

Return pump : Open to suggestions

Flow : Open to suggestions

ATO : i have no clue how this works tried to read up on it where do i put the water for it to top off? i might just do this manually

Heater : Open to suggestions

If i'm missing any equipment please let me know i have never had an aquarium before this is the first time

Also when you are doing water changes how do you heat the water you have made to then add to your tank

The curve 5 would be a good choice, the sump is your filter (should have felt socks that you could change to mesh or cups depending on your research) as far as return pump aim for 10x turn over, get a dc controllable one. Sicce, reef octopus, maxspect are top tier, jebao are a good alternative for their price. Heater i strongly recommend titanium. BRS has a titanium one and controller that’s high quality, finnex is a solid choice as well. Tank flow I’d get 2 power heads aim for 10-20x turnover. These are completely budget oriented. Vortech mp10s are pricey but are a great pump, sicce has a nice one that is WiFi, ai Nero 5 is also WiFi, or 2 gyres like the icecap 1k or the smaller maxspect

ato should be a reservoir filled with clean rodi water only, do not use salt ever in it. Other than that it’s just set the sensors at the level to be maintained in the return chamber of the sump and it will do its own thing (make sure the water line is above the reservoir line or it could siphon and flood). Water changes it’s best to get a brute garbage can or similar, place a cheap powered head to mix and a small cheap heater to make sure it’s close to the same temp as your tank

@Dave1993 for my W/C’s for anything under 15% of total volume I don’t heat the new water as long as it’s room temperature. Won’t drop system temperature significantly. Are you going to do a build thread on your reefer 250?
