My tank seems to be evaporating a lot of water. Seems almost too much. Could it be because of the weather drop and heat on in house. Need help almost 5 gallons every couple days

What is the size of your system? Mine is about 100 gal. and I have been adding about 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 gallons daily.

Its that time of year where evaporation rates go up up up. This has been observed in my home tank as well as the tank at work, so its not just yours. I wouldnt worry unless you see a giant puddle forming on the ground!

Definitely. Investing in an auto top off is smart. Or just manually add fresh every night to keep the water level consistent. You don't want the salinity constantly fluctuating cause it can stress your livestock.

In the winter the air is often drier and causes water to evaporate faster. If you have a gas heater running that will also dry the air out even more.

Also if house windows are open to enjoy the cool breeze you water temp drops and if a heater is in place its working harder to keep that temp the same so there for your water its evaporated due to how hot the heater is. This might not be the case but its just personal experience i went thru :)
