Hi All,

Have some Algae problems so as part of it I figured why not send off an ICP, tank is only 4 months old so could just be a case of the uglies. The results I got back listed these as the issues with my tank, their suggestion was to add Iodine and do water changes. Anything on here I need to investigate further.

Tank:

My RODI also showed high silicon of 725.3 µg/l

Unless you haver a diatom problem, I would not worry about the silicate.

Are you dosing trace elements? Soem seem higher than I'd expect if you are not,a nd if you are, I'd dose less (iron, zinc, etc.).

Might possibly be a sign of a rusting metal part in the water?

Iodide dosing might be fine to experiment with.

Hi! Thanks for the replies!

It is a fairly new tank with no coral yet, adding in a week or two as the coral are currently in QT, not dosing anything at all other than food and Cheato Grow from BW (and not very frequently dosing this either). Salt is Tropic Marin Pro Reef.

Yeah when I saw the results I thought the same but there should not be any metal in the tank hmmm...

Cheers

Chris
