This Chromis has something going on with his mouth?
I have him along with a second Chromis and a Royal Gamma in my 20G QT.
Bought them about a week ago, this became visible about three days ago. I noticed the interior of his mouth was red before his lips began to show the swelling or fungus if that's what this is.

I am new to the reef hobby and have no idea what this is or the proper treatment if any.

So can you the intelligent group give me a clue.

Thank you

Could be damage from bullying as they are chromis. Perhaps some antibiotics to help it heal. Kanoplex maybe?

If gets closer to the glass is there anything in its mouth where a tongue should be?

Looks like a bacterial infection I would treat with Sulfaplex for 14 days. Probably the result of an injury that became infected. So you know fungus is almost non existent in SW fish. You could even add Furan 2 to the mix for a little more broad coverage.

No just looks red and irritated, not an obstruction.
They are eating well so far.

I would use Kanaplex + Furan-2. You can also add in metroplex (the trifecta) and cover uronema since they ARE chromis and very susceptible.

Yes I have been reading the articals and have been headed that direction.
I gather I should treat all three fish?
I can separate them into individual tanks if needed?

This exactly.

Yes you should treat all three, and I’d only separate if they start picking on the injured fish.

If you’re going to do the metroplex anyway I would just treat all three and make is easier on yourself. It won’t hurt the others.

I will have to order online looks like my LFS does not stock any of these.
I do have Prazipro and Cupramine neither of these will work on this go figure.

Not a bad idea to treat with copper anyway, the odds are very high that they carry ich or velvet.

I may have to go over the hill to pick these up.
My current delivery options wont get me the meds until mid to the end of next week.
No I don't know any locals here to borrow from.
That's just not something I do any way.

I have introduced the Furan-2 the other two meds are on the way.

Do I introduce these meds all together? or do each one at a time?

Well, *&^% I have successfully killed off all of my first fish. Makes me sick to know I did not do my part obviously.
I don't know what I did wrong.

Started with 8 fish separated into two 20G QT tanks, two weeks ago and now the last one is on its side breathing fast and am sure it wont be long. Maybe I should just put it out of its misery.

Started with
5 Chromis
1 Royal Gramma
1 Yellow Watchman
1 Bicolor Angel.

All 5 Chromis in one tank the rest in the other.
All came from the same system (water column) at the LFS.
My QT setups
Foam air filter, heater, one live rock from LFS, PVC fittings.
Tropic Marin pro.
50% water changes everyday.
Salinity, temp, matched. Ammonia max 0.25, N02, No3 both 0 did not test PH however.
Food was frozen brine and Mysis.
No medications, until the other day.

My first death was a Bicolor Angel within 24 hours.
I know I did not follow the rules and should not have bought him.
He was just brought into the LFS like two hours prior, and was over stressed, already then transferred once again to my house, obviously was to much, his color was poor and he never ate.
3rd day a Chromis,
4th day another Chromis,
5th day another Chromis,
7th day the Watchman. He stopped eating around day 5 I think.
11th day the Royal,
This morning had the second to last Chromis dead.
Currently, my final of the 8 my last Chromis is rapidly breathing and on his side at the bottom of the tank.

They all were eating very well I noticed nothing physically wrong until the other day when I started this thread.
I began the treatment with Furan-2 on Tuesday.
I never saw signs of ICK, Velvet, or parasites.
All but the Angel were eating like crazy.

I don't know what to think, or do.

In the pic I took out the PVC fittings when I cleaned and re-set this tank. the tank to the right has been medicated with Furan-2 and Cupramine, per instructions.

Before I try again I need to figure out what I am doing wrong.
Any guidance??? I hate to kill fish, I thought I knew what I was doing.
