Hi, this is for all the acrylic experts, during maintenance this piece just slipped off, apparently its a clean "cut", im guessing/hoping it can be welded back with some acrylic glue, but i dont know which kind and how long will it take, also since it was sepparated from the top, can i get away with doing it while i leave all the aragonite inside?

I think you'd be fine to do it as is. I'd rough the acylic up just a little and just put the weld on in the grove of the cap. It'll evaporate in seconds and just put the lid back on and hold it down tightly (without further damage) for a good 30 seconds.
I'm not an acrylic expert and I've actually only worked with acrylic a few times. I'm just saying what I would do if it were me.

Make sure the rim is dry and the groove is dry before you add the solvent, Weldon 4 will work but don't use 16 as it'll craze the acrylic. No it'll have to be inverted to apply the solvent or it'll just run down the sides.

IF you were closer I can reattach it for you.

What about putting tape around the cylinder? You could tape on a towel or something.
He's probably already fixed it anyway

Sorry for not responding sooner, but like jason said, i had to get it fixed the same day, fortunatelly i read a lot of stuff about the different weldons, but the hard part was, to scrape all the dried residue of the past weld. Now its good as new, but now i know not to grab/lift it from that part.
Thanks
