Hey guys, I'm running a 30 gal mixed reef with 3 Tunze wavemakers. As seen in the pics, I've got 2 Tunze 6015's on the back wall facing the front glass aimed towards the surface to get a choppy agitation and a Tunze turbelle on the side wall aimed across the length. In total I think it about 1600 gal/hr turnover.
As I'm have cyano and diatoms in a 10 month old tank, I added the turbelle and reconfigured the flow pattern. To have a bit more irregular patterns in the middle and lower part of the tank.
However, diatoms are on the front of my sand bed, some spots of red cyano on a few rocks . I don't want to hurt my corals with improper flow patterns, especially the torch and frogspawn in the front of the rockwork.
Any advice on how to optimize the placement and pattern would be really great, Incase my current setup is hurting anything. My nitrates are at 12 ppm, phosphates 0.05, pH 8.2, Alk 9, cal 390, mag 1280. The parameters are fairly stable with fluctuatione in calcium seen the most. I dose Redsea Reef energy AB+.
Also, my tunzes are the non programmable kind.
