Ok so I have a 7' tank, and I am looking for the best flow for an SPS dominant tank. Now I am running 2 gyre 250 power heads, and I am not happy with it. They are running on lunar tidal cycle. I am planning to add 2 tunze 6105 on the opposite end of the gyre, and removing the other gyre. Should I place them on the return side or the dead end of the tank. What mode should I set them on? Should I run the gyre constant, and alternate the Tunze? The tank measures 7' x 2' x 16" deep, and is peninsula tank. Thanks

Check out SeaSweeps. You can mount big Tunzes on them which will power your average racing craft and the sweeping motion is random and in some ways better than random in that it creates an amazing wave seeep effect.

Thanks I will look into them.

Step up to the 6200 series if you can. 6105 is going to be right on the edge of their power in a tank that size. I do use a pair in a 240 and I am happy with them for most of the day, but I also have to run a EcoDrift 20 on a timer for a few hours a day to stir stuff up a bit. That being said, EcoDrift 20 is a very powerful pump if you want to look at those - I have had good luck with them and probably put them squarely in the middle of ChineseCrap < EcoDrift < Tunze, but the price is right there in the middle as well.

I also use a wavebox, which I love.

Thanks for the reply. I am having so much trouble because the tank is shallow, and rimless. I think I am going to try the 2 6105 along with one gyre 250 for right now. I will look into the ecodrift
