I have a 36g bowfront, and I've been out of saltwater for some time, but this tank is my jump back in. We have a few corals in it (hammer, zoas, kenya tree) along with some generic flow pumps right now, but she plans to add more. She will also be adding some more fish (looking at chromis , firefish, maybe a blenny, and she wants a clown and anemone ).

I've been looking at the Jebao mcp-70, which on amazon says expect a flow from 925 to 1850 GPH. Is that too much for a 36g? or would this be a good choice to replace my current pumps with?

Been staring and comparing for weeks to the point I think I've confused myself..

Here's a link to amazon for this and specs: Jebao MCP-70

I don't think that would be too much flow. I have not used one of these but I know they put out good flow and it's steady. So I think this would work for you

They can be vertical or horizontal too...fyi

Appreciate it, think i've thought wayyy too much about it.. and got myself lost.. so, normal...

It’s a dc pump so you can dial it down. Although with jebao you can’t dial it down in all modes. Must say I’m a jebao fan, but their cross flow knock offs are crap. At least the two I got. They worked great for a month or two. Then flow decreased, then they started making noise. I then took ‘‘em out of the display and used ‘em for mixing new saltwater. Then the magnets fell off the base, basically the magnets swelled up. Then the rubber that holds the base onto the pump disintegrated.

Any better suggestions around the same price?

Have gotten plenty of miles out of jebao pp, ow, and the likes. If you get a pair they can sync and it allows you to have more freedom to play with dif flow patterns too. More than a single cross flow type would
