I got a Jebae SCP 90 SINE Cross Flow Pump for my 56 gallon (about 30 inches long and 25 inches high and 18 inches deep) and I'm running it on the lowest speed setting and the water is really moving!

I know the SCP90 is rated at a 3,300 GPH flow rate, which I "assumed" is at full speed.... I couldnt find what the GPH is for the different speeds though, but "assumed" it would scale down enough.

Assuming you want 40x... that puts me in a target flow of 2,240 GPH... which would be about a 35% reduction.

Did I get to strong of a pump?

It just seems my Xena and Bubbles are really rocking (at the lowest speed setting) and I've moved them to the end of the flow path.

Should I switch it for the SCP25 which has a GPH flow of 2,700?

Thoughts?

It sounds to me like you need to get a smaller pump. That spc90 is a beast.

If you are already on the lowest setting and are getting that kind of movement so far away, it is probably too much.
If you get the spc25 it sounds like you will still need to turn it down a bit. But you will be able to put your corals back where to want them.

I think this has to do with the 18 inch width of your tank. You put an 11 inch pump on one end and all of the water is getting blasted out with basically no diffusion.

Maybe try running it vertical in the corner and see what that does before you swap it out. I am just curious what it would do. A couple short videos showing the flow would be interesting to see.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll try that out and see if it helps!

The placement changes also seem to be working, didnt have to adjust to much.
