Hi All,
My Fluval 32 has been up and running for about a month. All seems good. Used Stability to cycle - all water tests are perfect. Green algae growing, know it’s not harmful, but don’t like it. I live in Mexico and hard to buy livestock. I need some crabs and want a tang.
Can someone explain the filter system intakes? Seems like when I feed or move something around in tank, I can’t see where debris is going. Can anyone clarify? Thanks

There is one at the top and bottom of both sides, but I can’t see where floating flakes of food gets sucked in. Seems like I should see that. Thanks

As stated above, the flex tanks do not have an overflow. They have water intakes at the top and bottom of the back compartment. If you want better water surface skimming, there are diy solutions to blocking off the bottom intakes. I haven't found it nessecary with enough circulation from additional pumps.

Please reconsider the thought of putting a tang in there. The flex is a nice little tank but it's just not suitable for a tank. There are some fantastic algae eaters you should totally check out! What about a tailspot blenny? They love to go to town on algae and have a ton of character. Now is also a great time to beef up your cleanup crew by adding hermits and algae eating snails.
