Help with fluval ps2 skimmer

So I got this 13.5g fluval tank, and I got the protein skimmer. I installed the protein skimmer and now matter how I dial it I don't see a difference. On other tanks I've had low does nothing and high overflows so I dial it in somewhere in between. Did I do something wrong does anyone have one with any tips?

Nice thank you, I found out my first problem was I didn't have the "safety hole clogged" so it wasn't even able to get the water high enough. And then I struggled to dial it in, but got it in the first 5m with that video.
