I have finally decided I am going to buy a gfo reactor for my 90g dt with 50g breeder sump. I am going to get the next reef mr1 reactor and use the sicce .5 pump.

My problem is I see a ton of different gfo medias that all say they do this that or the other. Ranging from $15.00-$43.00 per package to start. Which one should I use. I don't know what my po4 is at because I have a horrible GHA and bryopsis problem. The LFS test showed none and No3 at .5ppm I know this is not true because the GHA feeds off of both. Thanks for the help

When I ran gfo I always used BRS high capacity gfo. It costs more but you can use less and get better absorption than regular gfo.

I would agree with the BRS HC GFO. Is that an adjustabel flow pump?

It's rated at 185 gph the mr1 is rated for 160 and most pumps come with a valve

I've been using the regular BRS. GFO and carbon in a BRS duel reactor with MJ pump purchased as a kit from BRS. I've been real happy with it.
I'd do a pretty big water change and turn the lights off for a day or two. The GHA is probably consuming the phosphates and that why your testing low

I use Aquamaxx GFO. It has a lot less dust which means a lot less waste and rinsing.
