Anyone know what is going on with my coral? The red definitely wasn't there a week ago and I'm not sure about the split looking part?

Something red is growing over the dead skeleton, perhaps coralline algae or cyanobacteria?
I'm not sure about the split, either?

Welcome to Reef2Reef!
That part I am certain of.

Try to blast it off with a baster. If it comes off it's probably cyano. Shouldn't affect the coral itself. If you find the candy cane retracted and thin looking, I find that candy canes like iodine baths

try blasting the red stuff with a turkey baster/feeding tube. If it comes off its cyano, with that I recommend chemiclean to help kill off any other remnants that might be out of sight.

as for the split, my candy cane coral had something similar but it never became an issue. If it gets bigger it could be a CUC members shell rubbing against it. Im not entirely sure whats in your tank so im just guessing

Candy canes in my experience are one of the most resilient corals I've owned and have survived all of my beginner mistakes.
as long as it doesn't start bleaching, constantly stressed you'll be okay

The red looks more like coralline algae to me which is a good sign. Cyano typically has bubbles in the “sheet” and will be more visible the later in your light cycle period.
The candy cane itself looks fine. In my experience they multiply much quicker when fed. During your non-light period when its tentacles are out turn your pumps off and directly feed it some frozen mysis or other specialized coral food. It’s neat to see how much they puff up during feeding.
